Ceramic Coating Aftercare Tips

Arctic Ceramic Coating Aftercare

Our current coating system is a si02 ceramic coating with adhesive bonding, which means it is designed on a molecular level and uses a Si02 process formula.

The Curing Process

Our ceramic coating cures within 12 hours of application. However, it is not fully hard until 48 hours depending on environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature.

During this time the following should be avoided:

  • Parking under a shaded tree
  • Allowing Bird droppings, sap or pollen to sit on the car and bake in the sun
  • Washing or abrading the paint

The ceramic coating will help prevent your clear coat form water spots as it is harder than clear coat and hydrophobic however it is not bullet proof and can still get hard water spots.

If you notice that your car gets water spot, bird droppings, tree sap, etc. within the first 48 hours, remove it as soon as possible by following our ceramic coating aftercare instructions.

How to Care for Your Ceramic Coating

Washing Your Car At Home

Arctic Coating is extremely slick, this means most things will dissolve off by the self clesnomg effect. This allows for minimal rubbing, on the coating and will ensure its longevity. Dry bird droppings, bugs and tree sap can be easily removed by using a detail spray or even a damp microfiber towel.

Washing

For best results the vehicle should be washed on a bi-weekly basis to avoid excessive contamination build-up.

Avoid high volume brush style car washes and high PH detergent cleaners and household dish soaps.

Avoid washing indirect sunlight to minimize streaks and water spotting.

Wash from the top down leaving the dirtiest sections for last to avoid cross-contamination.
